today, while at starbucks with my friend, a group of german men sitting near us suddenly started causing a ruckus: pounding on the window, pointing at something outside, gesturing wildly. out of the corner of my eye i saw a man crossing the street and assumed he was their friend, and all this fuss was to get his attention (i also assumed he was from germany, and this was some odd, german method of greeting each other).
nope! turns out, the guy's prius was driving away without him. it started rolling towards the parkway, and almost out into traffic. he got back to it just in time to stop it. he drove off, never to be seen again.
is it terrible that i sort of wanted to see that car explode? i didn't want anyone to get hurt, but i wanted to see the prius run into a tree, or hit a parked car, or get hit (gently) itself. now that i think about it, one perfect, german word comes to mind to describe my feelings: schadenfreude. it was all delightfully terrible.
(whenever i see a prius, i think of one of my favorite lines from the simpsons: ed begley jr. saying that his go-cart is powered by his "own sense of self-satisfaction.")

school is over. i made it! here is a list of things i meant to tell you, blog:
first, popcorn gives me stomaches now. still, i will store it in the old jar from my grandpa.

second, for some reason, i was looking very closely at tea packaging, and found this:

it's funny to me that arizona green tea is trying to pass itself off as a chinese import.
and just for kicks, a picture of a picture of me and brandon!

memorializing things.
the weekend was so wonderful and warm. we ate food and watched a movie, and i pretended for one day that i was a normal person on a long weekend away from work. today it was back to reality.

all marched out.
is it march that comes in like a lion, out like a lamb? i can't remember.
our party was fun. i ate and drank for three hours straight. cashews! cookies, spinach and artichoke dip, bean dip... so good. and i came out of it all with a really cool bag and an adorable apartment.
these are some of the flowers we got to perk the place up:

i don't know what these are called but i like them. they remind me of lions.

so, school starts in a week and i have a list of things i have to accomplish before next monday evening. yikes.

the smell of food.
if there's one thing that scares me more than anything else in this world, it's smelling like food. at work this sunday, practically every couple absolutely reeked of fried food. probably bacon. definitely bacon.
i'm going to start taking pictures again.
flowers i wouldn't mind getting on v-day despite telling my boyfriend that i don't want flowers:

oh, it's blog action day?
what?
my negative contributions to the environment:
1. i have about 4 million plastic bags.
2. i sometimes ride in a car.
3. i take a lot of really hot baths.
4. i ran the a/c nonstop this summer.
currently, there are three lights on in the apartment and i'm the only awake. i hate a dark house.
my positive contributions to the environment:
1. i take the bus and train.
2. i walk a lot.
3. i use the same plastic bottle over and over.
take that, environment!
